Product highlights
- Load height and body volumes:
- Standard body - 12 ft. 4 in. (3.76 m)
- Struck (SAE) - 37 cu. yd. (28.2 m3)
- Heaped 2:1 (SAE) - 51 cu. yd. (38.7 m3)
- Strong, reliable engine – MTU Detroit Diesel MTU Series 2000 that generates 760 hp (567 kW) at 2,100 rpm.
- Protected transmission – the Allison H6610A transmission remotely mounted, which protects it from engine and road vibration.
- Easy-to-operate – the wraparound-style dashboard position controls are within easy reach and provide quick visibility.
- Better visibility – a new mirror placement and rearview camera system give the operator an expanded field of view that covers the entire perimeter of the hauler.
- Cab provides more comfort and less vibration.
Comfortable cab
You’ll love the new ROPS/FOPS cab from Hitachi. It features a center-integrated automotive-style dashboard that positions the display and controls within close view of the road ahead. The cab uses double-wall construction and a three-point rubber ISO-mount to absorb shocks and noise. The high-powered heater provides ample BTUs for all environments and working conditions.
Fully hydraulic brakes
You can count on the fully hydraulic brakes on this hauler. Optimum brake force yields maximum available braking under tough ground conditions for best control. And unique variable front-to-rear brake proportioning maximizes stopping performance under slippery road conditions.
Easy access to major components
The fully fabricated box-section main rails feature section height that is tapered from rear to front. This produces a narrower area at the rear to support the load and a wider area at the front to provide overall stability. One-piece top and bottom flanges eliminate cross-member tie-in joints and provide a large exposed center area for access to major components. The large radii at frame junctions are blended and ground stress concentrations are minimized.
High resistance to wear and impact
The EH1100-3 frame utilizes 345 MPA-yield, high-strength low-alloy steel that is robotically welded to ensure consistent high-quality welds.
High maneuverability
When you operate the EH1100-3, you’ll quickly realize that the Hitachi ACCU-TRAC suspension system delivers excellent maneuverability, even at higher speeds. The trailing arm layout offers greater ease of servicing while improving truck performance. And the pivot mounting of the trailing arm design allows only axial input to the strut and wheel movement in the vertical plane only. The trailing arm suspension design also allows the front struts to be removed and installed without removing the front brakes or tires. This means fewer tools and less labor time are required, resulting in less downtime and higher productivity.
Operator comfort
The newly designed air-ride seats, with optional semi-active seat, provide enhanced comfort and safety for all operators.
Enhanced visibility
The EH1100-3 features the standard side and rearview camera system plus updated mirrors.
