MINExpo INTERNATIONAL Huge Success
The 2012 MINExpo International, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center Sept. 24-26, was billed as the largest collection of mining equipment ever gathered. It spanned 825,000 square feet and resulted in a verified record show attendance of 50,077, an 11,577 increase over its previous show in 2008.
Hitachi’s 20,000 square foot exhibit space saw a fair share of this traffic.
The booth’s theme “We dig. We haul. That’s all.” was developed to clearly communicate Hitachi’s focus on shovels and haulers. The exhibit space showcased Hitachi’s EX5600-6 shovel, EH400ACII hauler and the brand new EH5000AC-3 hauler, offering attendees a rare chance to see the giant machinery up close.
In addition, the booth featured information about the company’s trolley assist and autonomous haulage systems, its product support capabilities, Wenco Mining Systems and the brand new SkyAngle Camera System.
A favorite among attendees was the EX5600’s 35.5 cubic yard loading shovel that was rigged up as a photo opportunity. More than 1,400 photos of people standing in the bucket were taken over the course of the three-day show.
