Productivity and efficiency combined
The ZX240F-3 represents the very best in productivity and efficiency, with highly refined, computer-chip-controlled engine/hydraulic performance. From its tough, next-class-up swing and travel systems to the strengthened, rugged upperstructure and heavy-duty undercarriage, it can take on the wildest of woods. The purpose-built processing front eliminates the need for boom-tip and hoist-cylinder adapters.
Product highlights
- Technically advanced hydraulic system improves attachment performance, machine smoothness and facilitates faster cycle times.
- Top-of-class reach and lifting capacity gives you more control at the worksite.
- Seamless integration of attachment and carrier with installation of Waratah processing heads and a variety of makes and models for grapples.
- Standard 277-gallon (1050 L) fuel tank extends run -time between fill ups.
- Heavy-duty track chain, optional reversing fan and rear-entry cab with integral 48- or 72-inch risers available.
- Available in Road Builder, Processor, Live Heel, Butt & Top and Power Clam Configurations.
- Next-size-up swing system and a high torque log loader swing motor delivers swing torque to handle the tough jobs (more swing equals more wood).
Better performance
Hefty new structures and next-class-up components are built to perform in the demanding logging industry. Powerful swing systems, improved horsepower and new hydraulic systems promise increased productivity without sacrificing fuel efficiency or precision.
Tough design
The ZX240F-3 features tough, next-class-up swing and travel systems to the strengthened, rugged upperstructure. Each front has been designed and built tough to meet the needs of today’s logger. For example, the purpose-built processing front eliminates the need for boom-tip and hoist-cylinder adapters.
Total comfort
The cab’s durable cloth seat features a reclining back with adjustable armrests and headrest for extra comfort. An optional air-ride heated seat offers low-frequency suspension with automatic weight adjustment, variable-suspension damper, double-locking roller slide rails, seat-cushion extension and tilt and Sittab Armflex adjustable armrests. This option is available with either a lap belt or four-point restraint system for shovel-logging applications so operators can focus on the job without sliding out of their seat.
Monitor and MIC
In addition to providing readouts of the operating basics, the Forester comes equipped with the Machine Information Center (ICX). It captures and stores vital machine-performance data such as engine speeds, hydraulic temperatures, pump pressures, alarms and faults, hours of operation and more. The information is even downloadable through a Palm Pilot™ and then can be transferred to your PC or a laptop equipped with MPDr.
Easy to service
Centralized grease points, remote-mounted fuel-, hydraulic- and engine-oil filters and dynamic oil-sampling valves make servicing fast and easy. A fuel-efficient Isuzu engine and large rear-mounted fuel tank keep fuel consumption in check and the machine running longer. And debris screening on the air-inlet side of the cooling system keeps large debris from entering the system, reducing the need for cooling system maintenance.
Heavy-duty guarding
Hitachi Foresters feature one of the most aggressive guarding packages available. It includes heavy-duty side and upper-deck panels supported with reinforced bulkheads, guards to protect the hydraulic-oil filler cap and exhaust stack, a heavy pump door with support bracket, sealed underdecking panels and a tough three piece purpose-built engine enclosure. Your Forester also comes standard with rock guards, belly pan, travel motor guards and log deflector.
